An ENERTREN engineering report indicates that masonry veneer ties fixed to the lip of Steel Framing may not meet the Australian Standard. When it comes to steel framing, the tie appears to be a cavity masonry tie, not a veneer tie. If the stud base metal thickness is less than about 1.6mm it would not be possible to resist the required force at a displacement of 1.5mm for even TypeA. Recommendation provided is to use face-fixed ties instead.
On the other hand, another engineering report shows that our Stuper Stubbie Face-Fixed Brick Ties have passed the Australian Standard testing.
